Community supported agriculture (CSA)

In 2012, the FETCH family and teen programs were relocated to Hale Tuahine Farm, which is part of the Magoon Research Facility in Manoa. It’s 10,000 square foot of land provided the high school students and the college mentors of FETCH’s teen program the opportunity to start a Community Support Agriculture (CSA) Farm, which continues to be an important part of the Youth Advantage! Sustainable Sciences Internship Program today.

Through the Youth Advantage! Sustainable Sciences Internship, high school students learn how to build, manage and harvest from a CSA Farm. The teens harvest the produce on Hale Tuahine Farm for CSA baskets (individual baskets full of fresh fruits and vegetables from Hale Tuahine Farm), which are then made available for pick-up and purchase to the community also at Hale Tuahine every week. The proceeds from these sales are then deposited into a college scholarship fund for each teen in our program.

At $25.00 a basket, these baskets are a great way to eat a diverse range of healthy foods at a GREAT price AND support high school students in their journey toward higher education. Sign-up to be a CSA customer today!
